WWG Works with “Justice for Children”

Justice for Children:  Expanding congressional outreach and bringing new resources to the fight to protect abused and neglected children.

Working With Government’s most recent client is Justice For Children (JFC).

Justice for Children is a national 501 (c )(3) child advocacy organization founded in 1987 to advocate for abused children who have been failed by the very systems that should have protected them, and implement collaborative solutions to enhance the quality of life for these children. JFC provides intensive case advocacy, court watch, pro bono legal services for direct representation for lower court proceedings or appeals and amicus curiae briefs.

JFC seeks to help members of congress better serve the youngest of their constituents whose voices must be considered when shaping legislation that directly impacts their survival. Working With Government is supporting JFC in these efforts by shaping and implementing a strategy that will both expand their congressional outreach efforts and bring new resources to their work on behalf of abused and neglected children.

On December 3, 2009, JFC will host it’s annual holiday fundraising reception from 5:30-8:00 pm at the offices of Venable, LLP, 575 7th Street NW, Washington D.C..

WWG Launches

Grace Cummings, Beth Brent and Carrie Simmons are excited to announce the launch of Working with Government, LLC.

With more than 65 years of joint bi-partisan experience working in the legislative and executive branches of government, the corporate world and the third sector to include not-for-profit organizations and foundations, Working with Government, LLC brings an in-depth knowledge of each of these sectors and how they interact with each other.

We have come together out of a shared commitment to increasing transparency around the WAY government works. Government plays a central role in all of our lives. Democracy encourages the privilege of full participation. Yet it is our observation that such access to participation is grossly under utilized. Our intention is to change this through education and capacity building.

It is this emphasis on building internal capacity within organizations for long term effective engagement with government that sets us apart from many DC firms that focus on lobbying on behalf o f their clients.

“We provide education and guidance to our clients, preparing them to skillfully engage elected officials in achieving their strategic objectives” Partner Grace Cummings explains, “We aren’t going to go out and just do the work for you, our goal is to help our clients really understand how to interact with government to build internal capacity, and we do that in a fun and focused atmosphere”.

Working with Government, LLC provides educational training emphasizing an understanding of three important Ps – policies, personalities and politics. Our workshops and training help our clients to learn about and navigate the complex Congressional and federal agency environments that include clashing policy priorities, competing stakeholder interests and personality driven decision making.

Throughout our web site you will find information about our three primary offerings: educational workshops, strategic guidance and coaching and event management services. We welcome your inquiries as we strike out on this new venture!
